Clearfield Community Swimming Pool
Aquattica was hired to take an existing site due for upgrade assessments and provide a design program and engineering solutions relative to programming requirements, code compliance, and health and safety issues, within the client budget.
Project Features
- “Umbrella” water toy
- Mounted squirt guns
- “Ducky” slide for toddlers
- Spraying water curtain
- Spraying sunflower
- Children’s water slide and new double tube slide
The team at Aquattica went through a series of design submissions and received approval from the owners representative on a code-compliant final design that was completed in the beginning of spring 2014.
Aquattica’s structural upgrades included sandblasting and patching of the old pool; new white marbledust plaster; upgrading of the main drain system to meet VGB requirements; replacing and relocating a one-meter diving board; new ceramic tile racing lanes; reconstruction of the expansion joints; removal of the existing slide and addition of a new dual slide; demolition of the wading pool; design and build of a new wading structure; installation of a new recirculation system in the wading pool; and the addition of a new chemical control filtration system in the new equipment building.
Aquattica’s design involved transforming the kiddie pool from a rectangle into a multi-dimensional, multi-unit spraying, bubbling, flowing facility for children’s activity. It combines a zero-entry pool and splash-pad type features.
